Happy 2 years old Alexandra!

When I asked Alexandra what she wanted for her birthday she said: "Monsters Inc. cupcakes, a pink dress and Japanese noodles" She got all of it and much more! We are truly blessed to have such a joy and love around. She brings smiles to us everyday and gives our lives more meaning.

Happy Birthday Alexandra Lucia!

You are pure love, compassion, fun, wisdom and happiness,
all in one beautiful you!

And we are the lucky ones that get to spend this lifetime with you.

Art is our Joy

Emma, Dada, Mama & Alexandra
Art work by 4 year old Emma
1 year old Alexandra trying out our homemade finger paint
versus store bought finger paint. Both are great!
Especially if you are painting outside naked!

Art is such a joyous fulfilling part of our life. My girls and I just love to create in so many ways. We all love photography, painting, cooking and baking, decorating cakes, creating our on art supplies, making designs, tattoos, gardening and home decor. Art is part of our being. The three of us going to an arts and crafts store is hazardous since we pretty much want everything in the store. We recently built a castle together and it was so much fun! It is so great to be able to create and learn as we grow together. As we do our art work we are present in the moment, and that is the best place to be. Especially when I have such amazing girls to be present with. I truly feel blessed to have them in my life and they are my reason for being and creating. I've said it before, they are my muses, and as they grow I love that they enjoy art as much as I do.

Fairy Festival

May is such a marvelous and enchanting month. Spring is finally here! The beautiful sunshine, blossoming flowers, fresh warm air, healing green all around, baby birds chirping in their nests, all these things and much more bring so much joy to my heart this time of year.

A highlight at the beginning of May is the Fairy Festival at Spoutwood Farm. We had a wonderful time meeting the fairies, catching up with old friends and connecting with new ones. Emma & Alexandra loved having a tea party, going into the fairy forest to make a fairy playground, riding a horse, dancing around the maypole, playing and dancing at the drum circle and meeting Posie the fairy.

There was so much to do there that we are hoping to have more time next year to enjoy more of the Fairy Festival. We left with our hearts glad of having spent such a wonderful family outing.

Tire Sandbox

A friend made one of these for her son and she inspired me to do the same.
We had an old large tire at the end of our field and we turned it into a sandbox!
I am so glad that this tire has a new purpose now and the girls absolutely love it.

and I recently found out that my friend Leah has a blog! check her out: http://www.crunchyfarmbaby.com/

Earth Day Placenta Tree

We planted Alexandra's placenta under a pear tree on Earth Day.
Just like Juan Carlos' grandfather did for each of his six children on their family farm.
We continue the tradition...

Joyous Present

We had a giggle fest this lazy Sunday afternoon. Emma and Alexandra piled up pillows around their tent and I jumped around tickling them and acting silly for their amusement. Their laughter brings so much joy and love to my heart. For me it is the sweetest sound ever. I love them so much and they continuously amaze me with the things they do and say. One of my favorite quotes from Emma this week: "mama, you are the queen of children" which I thought she said: "you are the clean of children" and then she clarified to me that I am the queen not the clean! I figured my subconscious probably heard it that way because I worry a lot about cleaning which is a never ending task once you have kids. However, there are some days that I am just more relaxed about it and actually those are the best days were I completely enjoy being in the moment with them. Time goes my so quickly, Alexandra is 15 months and Emma 4 years old now. Life has been very busy for us with amazing learning experiences, opportunities, and change, some good, some sad. I look forward to our journey of life together and soon will be posting all of our adventures.
